In late 2012 my friend Matt asked me to do contribute a comic to his monthly publication called The Paper. I did a couple gag strips, but felt like I should do something a little more ambitious. I’m kind of a crappy story teller, but I decided to take a character I had been drawing and do something of an origin story about it. I had no idea where it was going to go, and I still don’t. I’m not sure if I should abandon the improvisational nature of the comic in favor of something more mapped out and cohesive. Part of me likes how it keeps me on my toes, but I made some pretty drastic changes to the way I present the comic after the first two installments. All rambling aside, this is a full page (edited into a side scrolling adventure for viewing on the net) comic that Matt asked me to do for The Paper’s final issue. I’d like to thank Matt and everyone else involved for giving me a venue to do this, and for two years of making a great independent publication.
I plan on continuing to post installments here when I can, but this will be the last print one for awhile.
